We keep this short and honest. Below is what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who we are
Really Good Oil is a Paris-based company selling single-estate cooking oils. When we refer to "we", "us" or "our" in this policy, we mean Really Good Oil. You can reach us anytime at hello@reallygoodoil.co.
2. Information we collect
Only what you give us directly: your name, email, shipping address, and payment details when you place an order, and your email if you subscribe to our newsletter. We do not log IP addresses, fingerprint your browser, or track which pages you visit.
3. How we use your information
To process and ship orders, send order confirmations and shipping updates, respond to your questions, and send the newsletter if you've opted in. We do not sell your data, ever.
4. Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run the business: our payment processor, shipping carriers, and email delivery service. They are contractually bound to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify. We may also disclose information if required by law.
5. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are kept as long as required by law (typically up to 10 years for tax and accounting). Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe.
6. Cookies and tracking
We don't set tracking cookies and we don't run any analytics or advertising scripts. Your cart contents and language preference are saved in your browser's localStorage so the site remembers them between visits — that data stays on your device and is never sent to us. If we add analytics in the future, we'll update this page and ask first.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR and similar laws, you can request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to certain uses, or request a portable copy. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@reallygoodoil.co and we'll respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, restrict access to personal data to staff who need it, and review our security practices regularly. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
9. Children
Our site is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, let you know by email if you have an account with us.
